Frequently Asked Questions About Spam Call Blocking
Answers about iPhone and Android call filters, carrier protection, unknown medical calls, text filtering and in-home setup in Austin.
Can you block every spam call and robocall on my phone?
No. iPhone, Android and carrier filters can reduce nuisance calls, but scammers rotate or spoof numbers and some unwanted calls will still get through. We configure supported options, explain their limitations and help you review blocked-call lists.
Can you set up spam call blocking on an iPhone?
Yes. We can review supported iPhone options such as call screening, silencing unknown callers, identifying suspected spam, blocking specific numbers and filtering texts. The menus and options depend on your iOS version, carrier and installed apps.
Can you configure spam protection on Samsung Galaxy or Google Pixel?
Yes. On compatible Android phones, we can review Google Phone caller ID and spam settings, Pixel Call Screen where supported, Samsung caller identification and blocking options, and relevant message filters. Availability depends on the model, software and region.
Will I miss calls from doctors, pharmacies or family?
Possibly. Screening, silencing or blocking unknown numbers may affect legitimate calls from medical offices, delivery services and other contacts. We review your priorities, save important numbers, explain voicemail and call history, and select a less aggressive setup if appropriate. No filter can guarantee that every important call gets through.
Do callers who are silenced always leave voicemail?
No. Some legitimate callers do not leave a message, and voicemail may not be activated or available. We check how your phone and carrier handle unanswered calls and practice reviewing voicemail, missed calls and filtered lists.
Can you install AT&T ActiveArmor, T-Mobile Scam Shield or Verizon Call Filter?
We can help eligible customers review and configure the official carrier service that is supported by their plan and device. Some features are included while others may require a paid plan, and availability can change. We ask before enabling any paid feature.
Can you stop fake USPS, FedEx or bank text messages?
We can configure supported unknown-sender and spam filtering, show how to block and report suspicious messages, and check message notification settings. Filters cannot identify every scam, and genuine messages may sometimes be filtered.
Can you remove scam calendar alerts or fake iPhone virus notifications?
We can review suspicious calendar subscriptions, browser notification permissions and related settings, then remove unwanted items with your permission. A fake virus warning in a browser or calendar does not necessarily mean the phone is infected.
Does the National Do Not Call Registry block illegal scam calls?
No. The free National Do Not Call Registry tells lawful telemarketers not to call registered numbers, but it does not technically block calls and cannot stop scammers who ignore the law. We can help you navigate the official DoNotCall.gov website.
Can you block one specific number permanently?
We can use your phone or carrier tools to block a specific number and show you how to undo the block. That does not prevent someone from calling from a different or spoofed number, so permanent prevention cannot be guaranteed.
Do I need to buy a spam blocking app or pay a monthly subscription?
Not necessarily. Many phones and carriers have useful built-in or included features. Additional paid tiers or third-party apps may offer different capabilities. We review options and pricing with you and do not purchase or activate a subscription without permission.
How much does in-home spam call and text blocking cost in Austin?
AgeHelper charges $50 per hour for in-home technical help in Greater Austin. The total depends on the devices, carriers and settings involved. Optional carrier subscriptions or third-party software are separate; contact us about scheduling and any potential additional costs.
